PHILLIPS — The office of the Price County District Attorney has hired an assistant district attorney in partnership with the Taylor County District Attorney, according to reports at the county Law Enforcement Committee meeting on Oct. 16. CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Stanley man who was convicted of stabbing a Chippewa County deputy in August 2018 is headed back to a mental health institution after a judge determined he violated terms of his release. Travis A. Abbiehl, 41, was convicted in Chippewa County Court in December 2019 of first-degree reckless injury-use of a dangerous weapon and second-degree recklessly endangering safety. Chippewa Falls High School reclaimed a lost crown at the 2024 Chippewa County FFA Dairy Evaluation Clinic. The school fell short at home last year, but rebounded for a close win this time.
