Man charged in reference to call about 5-year-old who sustained a head injury: Deputies

GILES COUNTY, Va. (WSET) —
Deputies in Giles County said they took a 25-year-old into custody in reference to a 911 call about a 5-year-old.

On Friday at approximately 10:49 a.m., the Giles County Sheriff's Office dispatchers received a 911 call in reference to a 5-year-old who had sustained an injury to their head with an "edged weapon", according to deputies.
Giles County Sheriff's Office deputies responded and took 25-year-old Trinity Wilson (Narrows) into custody without further incident.
Deputies said the victim was taken by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to deputies, they charged Wilson with the following:
- One count of aggravated malicious wounding
- One count of attempted malicious wounding
Deputies said he is currently being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.
This is an ongoing investigation.
