PHOTOS: Wind fells tree with rotted core onto firefighting truck near Chemult
A firefighting truck at the Little Yamsay Fire was hit by a tree Saturday. All four people inside were able to get out without being injured. The U.S. Forest Service said the vehicle was headed from Klamath Falls to the wireline when the tree came down at 7:30 a.m. Images show the tree shattered the truck's windshield.

OREGON — A wildfire is still burning 25 miles southeast of Chemult, which ignited on April 20, 2024, by lightning. Officials are using this fire to burn naturally. The fire has currently burned through 3,278 acres of timber, light slash, and brush in the Fremont-Winema National Forest, which now has a 30% containment status.
