Burlesque Baseball Promises Family Fun Saturday
Saturday, May 18, marks the second annual Burlesque Baseball game, at least in this century, and the Silver City Museum Society promises an afternoon of laughs, children's activities and good, clean fun for the entire family. The game begins at 1 p.m. at Old James Stadium on the campus of WNMU, when Senator Siah Hemphill tosses the first pitch, following the singing of the national anthem by local musician Keana Huerta.

Light Art Space is located in the Historic Arts and Cultural District of Silver City, New Mexico. We feature two galleries, a studio workshop area, and an outdoor sculpture garden/event space. Our mission is to provide an inclusive place of creative discovery for the community of Silver City and its visitors. We feature changing art exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and other events. Through juried and curated exhibitions, we present our community access to work not usually seen in small, rural towns. We strive to show underrepresented artists including minorities, women, emerging artists, and those working in less-represented media such as alternative photographic processes, installation, and video. Light Art Space represents eleven regional artists who work in a variety of media including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, fiber arts, and photography. We welcome all members of the general public as well as serious collectors of art.

FBI joins investigation into stolen paintings
TAOS, N.M. — The FBI is taking on the investigation of two stolen paintings that happened nearly 40 years ago in Taos. In 2017, David Van Auker, owner of an antique shop in Silver City, was sent to a house in Cliff, New Mexico, to check out the estate of Jerry and Rita Alter.
