Pepperoni pizza doughnuts? New 'craft' doughnut shop to open
A new doughnut shop known for its wide variety of toppings is opening in a Cincinnati suburb. Parlor Doughnuts, a "craft" doughnut and coffee shop, opens at 7132 Cincinnati Dayton Road in Liberty Township on Feb. 28. It's the second Parlor Doughnuts in Greater Cincinnati. There's also a store on Beechmont Avenue in Anderson Township. The chain, which has locations in 22 states, boasts its Famous Layered Doughnuts , multi-layered pastries that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They come with a variety of sweet and savory toppings, like bourbon caramel, turtle cheesecake, Buffalo chicken and pepperoni pizza. The shop also offers vegan, gluten- and keto-friendly doughnuts. “One of our core values is to create a place that facilitates conversation and community," said co-owners Cody Parrent and Adam Atwood in a press release. "Where friends and families of all ages can gather in a vintage American space that feels like the 'Parlor,' a conversation center of 1900’s Victorian homes but with a modern twist." Bagel Group Plots Northside Bagel Takeover By April
Northside is about to get a fresh shot of carbs. The Bagel Group is moving into 4172 Hamilton Avenue, where new signage already marks the storefront while crews finish a modest interior buildout. Co-owner Theodore Wininger says the team is shooting for an early-spring debut and plans to lean on hand-rolled bagels and deli-style steamed sandwiches. Inside, workers have been installing kitchen equipment and rolling fresh paint on the walls as they get ready for a compact counter-service operation geared toward the breakfast and lunch rush.

Officially first at the window was – drum roll please – the Loveland Valentine Ladies which has also become a LDW Opening Day tradition. Loveland Dairy Whip Crew-member Jude Fine was at the ready and took the order for all the Valentine Ladies when the window opened following the final 10-second countdown and raucous cheer of the ladies outside the window. For the record, they ordered a variety of cones and soft-serve specialties including the brand new “Pizookie” (pronounced puh-zoo-kee) – more on that later.
