Suspect accused of killing Scott Co. deputy during traffic stop appears in court
The man accused of shooting and killing a Kentucky deputy was back in court on Tuesday morning.
Police say Steven Sheangshang murdered Scott County deputy Caleb Conley during a traffic stop last week on I-75 southbound in Georgetown.
On Tuesday, the judge entered a not guilty plea on Sheangshang's behalf. He is charged with murdering a police officer.
Sheangshang's preliminary hearing is set for next Tuesday.
He is currently being held without bond.
Sheangshang has a long criminal record, including previous charges out of Hamilton and Clermont counties. West Chester PD confirmed Sheangshang was under investigation in West Chester for burglarizing open garages in our Beckett Ridge neighborhood the day prior to the shooting.
A visitation for Conley is scheduled for Wednesday.
