Georgetown Hosts Deron Rust Memorial

GEORGETOWN, DE Honoring a respected Delaware promoter and racer, Georgetown Speedway hosts the Deron Rust Memorial this Friday night, June 2.

Auto Gallery of Delaware presents the annual event, with the Millman’s NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds headlining the program in a 33-lap, $3,960-to-win feature in recognition of Rust’s trademark No. 396.

Rust was a popular dirt Modified driver on Delmarva who ultimately took the reins of Georgetown Speedway during one of its more trying eras to keep the facility operating. Rust ultimately passed away in March 2013. His family and widow Tammy remain very involved at the speedway.
