The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) has issued an air quality alert for increased ozone in southeast Michigan on Saturday. The alert is expected to be in effect for Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties all day Saturday, with higher ozone levels during the mid-afternoon to early evening hours, that will bring the air quality index (AQI) within the orange, or "unhealthy for sensitive groups," range. ...

New Speed Limit On Lucy Road In City Of Howell
There’s a new speed limit on a busy road in the City of Howell. Council recently approved a traffic control order to establish the maximum speed limit on Lucy Road as 35mph. The City took over Lucy Road as part of a jurisdictional transfer from the Livingston County Road Commission in October of 2021, as the road is located in the City.

Two upcoming events aim to pay tribute to victims of dangerous dogs, raise awareness about the issue, and push for stronger laws. Fowlerville resident Leticia Spagnuolo is among those involved in a movement to strengthen laws related to dangerous dogs in Michigan after her 4 ½-year-old Yorkie named Pearl was viciously attacked over the Memorial Day holiday weekend in 2022 by a roughly 100-pound bull mastiff mix dog that had jumped a fence with another dog.
