When driving past Tim Osmond Park on a chilly weekend in the fall, chances are that hundreds of people are gathered on the football fields to support the Antioch Vikings football and cheer programs. The Vikings organization is a staple for the small town of Antioch. In fact, many current Sequoit athletes were once an Antioch Viking.
The Success of the Sequoits
Antioch Community High School’s football team has had nothing short of success, both offensively and defensively. The Sequoits are entering week five, 4-0, against the Wacounda Bulldogs, 3-1. The offense being led by lighting and thunder duo, junior Martin Cohen and senior Nick Day. The duo has over a thousand yards rushing together.

Field hockey works to keep the streak alive
On Sept. 23, the Antioch varsity field hockey team took on the St. Viator Lions. The Sequoits came out on top with a victory of 9-0, leading them with a new record of 8-4. Head coach Terry Dewing started challenging the team to have one personal and one team goal for every game. This worked out for the team as they came out strong from the start, scoring a goal in the first two minutes. This has been a goal Dewing challenged the girls with all season, and not only did they do it in the first quarter but also in the second quarter.

The Chargers faced Burlington for a second time at the tourney and faced off in the white bracket. KML lost the match in two 18-25 and 23-25. Amanda Hillmann had 5 kills and Ambryn Aanonsen finished with 4. Anna Leong had 11 assists. Sydney Falkowski had 4 aces and Brooke Bartelt ended with 10 digs.
