Update: Flash flood warning for Geneva and Houston counties until Friday night
The National Weather Service issued an updated flash flood warning at 7:31 p.m. on Friday in effect until 10:45 p.m. for Geneva and Houston counties. "At 7:31 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring," explains the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."
