    Which of these 11 Gardner-area athletes had the best performance of the week?

    Last week, readers voted Oakmont softball 's Jen Buszkiewicz The Gardner News Athlete of the Week, earning 50.33% of the votes. Buszkiewicz earned a spot in last week's poll for her performance against Lunenburg on April 15. She had three hits and four RBIs, leading to a 16-1 victory.

    Following up Buszkiewicz was Meg Minns of Gardner softball (34.95%), who hit a two-run single to give the Wildcats the lead against Maynard on April 19.

    Baseball

    Levi Hessell, Oakmont

    Hessell led the Spartans to an 11-5 victory over Hudson on April 22. His contributions included three hits, three RBIs and three runs.

    Miguel Batista, Gardner

    Batista had a single, sacrifice fly and a run to lead Gardner to its first win of the season against Mohawk Trail on April 23.

    Softball

    Olivia Souers, Oakmont

    Souers led Oakmont from the circle on April 22, helping to an 8-1 victory. The senior allowed just one run and totaled five strikeouts.

    Bridget Divoll, Monty Tech

    Divoll had two hits for the Bulldogs to lead to a 7-3 win over Blackstone Valley on April 24.

    Boys Lacrosse

    Colin Allain, Monty Tech

    Allain scored four goals against Worcester on April 22 and a hattrick against Bay Path on April 23 to lead to two Bulldogs wins.

    Brayden Nally, Oakmont

    Nally scored the winning goal in overtime to lift the Spartans past Auburn on April 25.

    Girls Tennis

    Elizabeth Matheson and Maddie Stauder, Quabbin

    The second doubles team came in clutch on April 24 in a match against Littleton. The match was tied 2-2 and the duo needed to win their match to win for the team and remain undefeated. They did just that, sweeping their opponents 8-0 in the eight-game pro set.

    Boys Track & Field

    Jayden Brostrom, Oakmont

    Brostrom was a triple winner in a meet against Quabbin on April 24, winning the long jump, 2-mile and 800 meter. Oakmont defeated Quabbin 83-62.

    Seth Twarog, Quabbin

    The senior came in first in both the pole vault and the 400 meter in a meet against Oakmont on April 24.

    Girls Track & Field

    McKinley Chabot, Oakmont

    Chabot won both the 1-mile and 2-mile runs at a meet against Quabbin on April 24.
