An early morning fight between co-workers staying at an Alabama motel left one man dead and another arrested in Mississippi.

Gardendale police said they were called at approximately 12:35 a.m. Monday after two out-of-state co-workers staying at a local hotel (800 Block Thompson Street) were involved in an altercation.

At that time, one of the subjects produced a gun and shot the other male in the parking lot and fled the scene.

Gardendale Officers quick response and along with Detectives helped to establish a suspect.

Detectives were able to get critical information out about the suspect, and with the help of Tupelo, Mississippi, Police Department, he was apprehended without incident.

Male shot at the scene was declared deceased upon arrival. No names are being released at this time pending charges and notification of family.
