At least 1 dead after vehicle goes off an over cross onto freeway in Galt
A person was killed after a semi-truck and a sedan collided on Highway 99 in Gal Saturday, according to Sacramento fire officials.
The California Highway Patrol's South Sacramento Division said that the crash happened on C Street when the sedan drove over an over cross onto the freeway and the semi-truck was unable to stop before hitting the sedan.
According to Galt Police, the driver of the Sedan was the person who was killed.
CHP worked to divert southbound traffic to the Central Galt exit.
Drivers in the area would need to travel through the city on Frontage Road and get back on the highway at Fairway, CHP said.
CHP confirmed as of 9 p.m., the number one lane was open to traffic.
