How it Happened: Florida Gators advance to Super Regional with 6-0 win

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — For the first time since 2018 the Florida Gators are heading to a Super Regional. Florida won three-consecutive elimination games — something that hadn’t been done in Gainesville since 1998 — to advance to the Gainesville Super Regional, where they will host the South Carolina Gamecocks. 

Kevin O’Sullivan turned to receiver Ryan Slater for game seven. The draft eligible right-hander rewarded the skipper. Slater scattered three hits over five-plus shutout innings. He struck out one and walked two. 

The Gators got their offense going on Sunday and carried that into Monday afternoon. Wyatt Langford opened the scoring with his 18th home run of the season. Catcher BT Riopelle smacked two home runs to help lead the 6-0 win.
