The high school football scene is ramping up again ahead of Friday night games in the Gadsden area.

Week two marks the start of region play for a majority of the teams in the area. Fort Payne and Coosa Christian started with big wins on Thursday, both showing how potent their offenses can get.

The week is highlighted by a huge matchup in Class 4A, Region 6 and in general as Oneonta is traveling up to Cherokee County in a state semifinal rematch that will feature two of the top backs in the state. The other big matchup is in Class 6A, Region 6 when Gadsden City hosts Fort Payne, which could also be a region championship preview.
