Local law enforcement agencies are very familiar with 38-year-old Keith Chastain who has been booked into Fresno County Jail 10 times in the last 31 days.

Chastain is from Fresno and currently facing 18 felonies and 15 misdemeanors from his recent arrests. Charges include stealing six vehicles, DUI, vandalism, fraud, possession of a controlled substance, and more.

Clovis Police Department alone has arrested Chastain six times in the last month.

"The public should know he's been in Clovis six times, he's going to be here again," said Clovis Police Department Corporal Meredith Alexander. "Everyone should know what he looks like."

Around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning Clovis Police received a call about a stolen truck that Chastain was suspected of driving.

According to the department, an officer located the stolen truck near Old Town Clovis and followed it until additional officers were in the area.

Officers pulled Chastain over in front of the Clovis Police Department and arrested him without incident.

Police said he was the only person in the stolen truck and was on his way to pick up his personal property from the Clovis Police Department from the last time he was arrested.

"I don't know what is happening in his life to cause him to steal so many people's vehicles and property it's sad," said Alexander. "I hope he gets some help."

Since Chastain hasn't been arrested yet for anything violent, he's been getting out of jail quickly.

This might be because Proposition 57 passed in California back in 2016. This allows felons who commit non-violent crimes to earn early parole.

However long he stays in jail is out of our hands, but we will arrest him every day if we have to," said Alexander.

This is why Alexander is asking the public if they see something, say something.

"If people don't call, we don't know," she said.
