Suspect named in Fresno homicide case, deputies say

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The suspect in a homicide investigation where a person was found dead on a sidewalk in Fresno has been identified by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they identified 36-year-old Angel Edward Gaytan as the suspect in an ongoing homicide investigation. He is believed to be transient and frequents the area of McKinley and Chestnut Avenues in Fresno.

Sheriff’s officials say around 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 18, EMS personnel responded to a report of an injured person along the side of the street near Chesnut and Harvard Avenues in Fresno.

Deputies investigate suspicious death in Fresno

Medics found the man, later identified by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit as 37-year-old Dominic Greco of Clovis, to be deceased. Deputies say Greco’s injuries were not consistent with a natural death, so EMS contacted the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives with the sheriff’s office say they responded to the scene and determined this was a homicide.
