Fresno Police Department mourns the loss of beloved detective

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own.

Detective Ana Chavarin passed away on June 1, due to a long-term illness.

Her service with the Fresno Police Department began in 2007. Throughout her career she was part of many teams, the latest being a detective for the Domestic Violence and Child Abuse/Missing Persons Unit.

Detective Chavarin’s funeral services were held Thursday morning.

It has been an honor to have you serve the community and be apart of that Fresno Police Department family Detective Ana Chavarin,” said in a press release.
