Hours-long SWAT standoff in Fresno comes up empty

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A wanted man believed to be at a home in Fresno prompted an hours-long SWAT standoff on Thursday.

According to Fresno Police, they received a call about the domestic violence incident involving a man believed to be armed near E. Austin Way and Ashlan Ave.

SWAT was called and neighboring homes were evacuated.

Police called off the standoff around 7:30 p.m. when they learned the man was not inside the home.

Investigators are talking to neighbors and witnesses.
