Man shot and killed in Fresno on Thursday identified

[UPDATE]A man has been arrested in connection to the killing of Ibrahim Muhammad.

A man was killed Thursday morning and a woman was wounded following a shooting in southwest Fresno.

According to the Fresno Police Department, officers learned that a shooting broke out around 7:30 a.m. near Geneva and Lorena Avenues.


Officers say someone opened fire in the middle of the street, striking the two.

Investigators say a man, later identified as 43-year-old Ibrahim Muhammad, was taken to the hospital and later died.

A 57-year-old woman was shot and is listed in critical but stable condition.

Detectives believe Muhammad was the intended target and the female victim was standing near him when she was struck.

Detectives believe Muhammad and the female victim have no association with each other.

Currently, detectives have no suspect information and have been canvassing the surrounding neighborhood looking for witnesses and video surveillance.
