Man arrested following crash and standoff in Fresno

A man is in custody following a crash in southeast Fresno Sunday night.

Police were called to the collision at Lowe and Parallel Avenues, near First St. and Ventura Ave. around 8:00 p.m.

When officers arrived they found a man inside the car that refused to follow orders.

They say the man told them he wanted them to shoot him so they pulled back and called for additional resources.

Officers learned that it may have started as a domestic disturbance that led to the crash.

The man was eventually arrested.
