FRESNO, Calif. - A pair of Fresno State water polo players have earned All-American honors, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches announced this week. Adding to their lengthy list of accolades and accomplishments from the 2023 season, sophomore Brooke Ochoa (third team) and freshman Hailey Andress (honorable mention) are now All-Americans.

Ochoa and Andress are the fifth and sixth Bulldogs to be honored as All-Americans in Fresno State history. Fresno State has had two All-American selections in the same season for the second-straight year, and the third time in program history (2022, 2020).

Ochoa, who was the 2023 Golden Coast Conference Player of the Year, All-GCC first team selection and GCC Tournament Most Valuable Player, finished her sophomore campaign with a team-high 60 goals and 32 assists. She recorded 16 multi-score games in 2023, with 10 games having three or more goals. The Carlsbad, Calif. native also swiped a team-high 41 steals for a new single season program record. She played in all 27 games this season.

Andress, the GCC Newcomer of the Year, a second team all-conference pick and All-Freshman team selection, paired well in the pool with Ochoa as she was second on the team in scoring with 52 goals. Andress added 16 assists. The true freshman ended the season with a 20-game scoring streak. She scored the most goals in a game by any Bulldog on the year with six goals against then-No. 7 Long Beach State (Feb. 5). She scored in all but three games in her first collegiate season, appearing in all 27 games on the year.

Ochoa and Andress join Emily Nicholson (2018, 2020, 2022), Callie Woodruff (2019), Daphne Guevremont (2020) and Fanni Muzsnay (2022) as the program's all-time All-Americans.
