The Central Grizzlies softball team took on the California High Grizzlies of San Ramon in the state regional competition on Tuesday.

The CIF NorCal quarterfinals took place Tuesday afternoon in Fresno.

Central's Kaia Galaviz set the tone early striking out 4 of the first 6 California Grizzlies she faced.

The offense got her a run in the 2nd inning when Jayden Ramos doubled, was sacrificed to 3rd, and then scored on a fly ball off the bat of Bella Palma.

California evened the score in the 4th inning but that turned out to be the only score for Cal High.

Central's Mia Nishikawa came on in relief of Galaviz and was also dominant.

Arissah Garza got a walk-off hit to give Central the 2-1 win.

The Central Grizzlies will face St. Francis on Thursday in the state semifinals.
