The Fresno Police Department shared photos of some cars being impounded over the busy Memorial Day weekend.

The department's Traffic Unit officers responded to multiple calls for service related to illegal sideshows at various locations throughout the city Sunday night.

"There are a lot of great ways to celebrate Memorial Day weekend," said FPD.

Reckless driving is not one of them.

The largest event was at Blackstone and Bullard Avenues which the police say involved over 300 vehicles and spectators.

Several vehicles were seen doing burnouts while crowds of people watched and recorded the stunts with their cell phones.

Officers made the crowds break up but some of the vehicles gathered at a parking lot a couple of blocks away at Blackstone and Sierra Avenues.

They conducted several traffic stops for reckless driving and operating vehicles with illegal modifications.

Multiple vehicles were impounded from both locations.

Participating in sideshows and reckless driving is illegal and is not tolerated in Fresno.
