’Dogs come up just short on Senior Day

FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 67-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team battled to the end before falling 4-3 to the Wyoming Cowgirls on Sunday at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.

Fresno State (7-7, 1-1 Mountain West) earned the doubles point by winning at the No. 1 and 3 positions, and led the match 3-0 after Pang Jittakoat and Matilde Magrini each won at the top of the Bulldogs' rotation before coming up just short in the remaining four singles showdowns to Wyoming (7-8, 2-0 MW).

This was Fresno State's first loss in a regular season Mountain West contest since 2021 and snapped a 15-match regular season conference winning streak for the Bulldogs, who went 10-0 in league play last season en route to capturing the 2022 MW regular season championship.

Before the match, Fresno State honored its two graduating seniors – Cristina Flaquer and Carlotta Nonnis Marzano – in a recognition ceremony before the Bulldogs' final home match of the 2023 season.
