The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is sounding the alarm on frozen organic strawberries.
According to the FDA, this is due to a Hepatitis A virus outbreak investigation. This prompted California Splendor, Inc. and Scenic Fruit Company to recall the fruit that is sold at various retailers, under multiple brands.
Based on information gathered by the CDC, 100% of people that provided information about what they consumed, it came back to frozen strawberries out of Baja California, Mexico in 2022.
The recall includes the well-known 4-lb. bag of Kirkland Signature Frozen Organic Whole Strawberries that were sold in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Hawaii.
People are asked to check those purchased strawberries to see if they match any of the lot codes seen below:

The second retailer, Scenic Fruit Company, is recalling its product that is sold at Costco, Aldi, KeHe, Vital Choice, Seafood, PCC Community Markets and Traders Joe’s nationwide.

Thus far, five people have reported getting sick, two have been hospitalized and no deaths have been reported.
