The Maryland State Police arrested Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Deputy 1st Class Allan Mandujano, age 29, of Jefferson, Maryland, on charges of second-degree child abuse and second-degree assault.
According to police, Mandujano joined the sheriff's office in June 2021 and was a Patrol Operations unit team member.
Police say, at the request of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services, troopers from the state police Criminal Enforcement Division Western Region investigated an allegation of assault involving Mandujano.
The preliminary investigation revealed the alleged assault involved a six-year-old child that occurred on March 21, say police.
State police troopers arrested and charged Mandujano yesterday.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is made up of highly trained professionals in law enforcement and corrections,” said Sheriff Chuck Jenkins in a news release. “The actions of one deputy should not reflect on the entire agency. Jenkins added.
Mandujano is currently on suspension without pay status with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.
