Hearing Rescheduled for Local Woman Behind Bars for Assaulting Mother in Cherrytree Township
VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A hearing for a local woman accused of reportedly assaulting her mother during an incident in Cherrytree Township has been continued. Court records show a preliminary hearing for 22-year-old Elizabeth Demuro, of Titusville, that was scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, has been continued and will resume on June 26, at 8:30 a.m. in Venango County Central Court.
School District budget not yet balanced
The Titusville Area School District is wrestling with a stubborn $285,000 proposed budget deficit, as work continues ahead of a June budget deadline. District Business Manager Shawn Sampson provided an update on the current condition of the in-progress budget proposal during the monthly committee meeting of the board of school directors, Monday. The proposal in its current form calls for tax increases for district residents in Crawford and Warren counties, paired with a tax decrease for northern Venango County.
