Franklin County man dies days after crash on U.S. 30
A Franklin County man died at York Hospital on Thursday, two days after he was involved in a single-vehicle crash east of Chambersburg, according to York County Coroner Pam Gay.
James Pentz, 78, of Guilford Township, was the driver of a vehicle that crashed at about 2:53 p.m. March 21 in the 2000 block of Lincoln Way East, Guilford Township. He may have had a medical event just prior to the crash, according to the coroner.
Pentz was airlifted to York Hospital with multiple injuries. He was pronounced dead at 3:52 p.m. Thursday due to subarachnoid hemorrhage and multiple blunt force injuries due to the vehicle crash, according to the coroner. The coroner ruled the death accidental.
Pentz was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. No passengers were in the vehicle.
Pennsylvania State Police is the investigating agency.
