GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A family is moving forward without closure.

Relying on faith is what Christopher Bellows is doing just one week after losing his brother, Joseph Minor, to senseless gun violence.

Greensboro neighbors asked to leave homes to improve railroad safety

He’s a man Bellows says was the glue to their family.

“He always said that he wanted to have his own business and be the head of the family and take care of all of us. That was the steps. And now that’s my steps,” Bellows said.

According to Greensboro police, around 6 a.m. on Sept. 1, officers responded to an aggravated assault on the ground floor of a parking deck on the 300 block of North Greene Street.

When they arrived, officers realized the assault was a shooting, and they found 21-year-old Minor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He later died at the hospital.

It’s a loss Bellows is still processing after laying his brother to rest on Saturday

Bellows hopes by sharing his brother’s story that someone will realize the impact he had and come forward with information that’ll lead to an arrest.

“I’m trying to make sure Joseph Minor is known. That’s my brother, and he was the best person in the world. I wouldn’t trade him for no one else,” Bellows said.

Greensboro police say they are actively working on this case. If you have any information, you can reach out to Greensboro crime stoppers at (336) 373-1000.

A GoFundMe has been set up to cover the funeral costs.
