(WGHP) — Most of the week will be nice then our rain chances will increase.

It will be sunny on Tuesday with lows in the low to middle 50s and highs in the lower 80s.

It will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy on Wednesday with lows in the middle 50s and highs in the lower 80s.

In the Gulf of Mexico, Tropical Storm Francine could be a hurricane when it makes landfall near the Texas/Louisiana border sometime Wednesday. As the system moves ashore, skies across the Piedmont will become cloudy. On Thursday, look for mostly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 70s.

By Friday, what’s left of Francine will be moving across the Mississippi River valley. In the Piedmont, we will see a few showers with highs in the middle 70s. The chance of rain is 40%.

On Saturday, the remnants of Francine will continue to bring scattered showers to the Piedmont. Our highs on Saturday will be in the upper 70s. The chance of rain is 50%.

On Sunday and Monday, the leftovers of Francine will continue to weaken. For the Piedmont, our rain chances will begin to drop. We’ll see mostly cloudy skies both days with highs near 80 degrees. The chance of rain is 30%.
