Winning $40,000 Mega Millions ticket sold in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS – A Mega Millions ticket sold in Indiana for Tuesday’s drawing is worth $40,000.

The ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball for the Aug. 20 drawing; the winning numbers were 5-20-26-49-51 with a Mega Ball of 24. The Megaplier was 4X, quadrupling the typical $10,000 prize.

Someone bought the winning ticket at GetGo #7547 located at 3301 E. 96th St. in Indianapolis.

While no one won the jackpot for Tuesday’s drawing, a ticket sold in Arizona matched five numbers for a $1 million prize, while another sold in Delaware matched five numbers and added the Megaplier for $4 million.

The next Mega Millions drawing is Friday, Aug. 23, with an estimated jackpot of $527 million ($261.9 million cash option).

This is the third time this year that the jackpot has exceeded $500 million, and Friday’s jackpot is the 13 ^th largest in the game’s history. Someone last hit the top prize in June.
