    Heat advisory issued in Northern California as soaring temperatures return

    (FOX40.COM) — A heat advisory has been issued for parts of Northern California, as triple-digit temperatures is set to return this week.

    The heat advisory, issued to the Sacramento Valley, Delta and Foothills, begins at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and is set to expire at 8 p.m. on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

    Throughout the heat advisory, highs are expected to reach between 100 to 107 degrees along with warm nights in the 60s and 70s.

    In Sacramento, forecasters expect temperatures to reach as high as 102 degrees on Wednesday, 104 on Thursday and 101 on Friday. The NWS recommends to “drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on those more susceptible to heat impacts.”

    FOX40 chief meteorologist Adam Epstein said temperatures will start to cool off by the weekend and expects 80-degree temperatures to return next week.
