Tire comes off car, hits motorcycle in deadly I-25 crash

COLORADO SPRINGS (KXRM) — A crash between a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Subaru’s tire on southbound Interstate 25 near Interquest Parkway turned fatal Sunday morning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash occurred around 9 a.m. near milepost 154, between Northgate Boulevard and Interquest. According to CSP, the tire had come off the Subaru and hit the motorcycle, causing the crash.

Troopers found the motorcycle rider seriously injured, and despite lifesaving efforts, the rider was pronounced dead at the hospital around 9:30 a.m.

According to COTrip, the left lane of southbound I-25 was closed but CSP reported it reopened by 10:45 a.m.
