Photos: A Castle Pines chateau sold for the second-highest price in Castle Rock history

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A chateau in the Villages at Castle Pines has closed for $6.5 million, marking the second-highest sale price in the city of Castle Rock.

The house, located at 329 Paragon Way , was sold by Liv Sotheby’s International Realty. The sale also marks the highest price garnered in the gated neighborhood in over a decade. The 1.35-acre parcel is home to a seven-bedroom property with 11,536 square feet of living space.

The home was also built in 2014 with Belgian-inspired finishes. The French chateau features a number of amenities, including a small vineyard, two firepits, a dry sauna, a wine cellar and a poolside, wood-burning pizza oven in the outdoor kitchen. The house has seven bedrooms and six full bathrooms, plus three partial bathrooms.

Inside, the gourmet kitchen has a number of features, including Carrera marble countertops, a walk-in pantry and a coffee bar that’s built on a repurposed credenza from an 18th-century monastery. A breakfast nook is outfitted with a wood-burning fireplace and views of the backyard through “picturesque” windows.

Other aspects of the house include the duckpin bowling alley and theater, in addition to its legacy: The home was used twice to film national commercials featuring University of Colorado Coach Deion Sanders, according to Sotheby’s.

The property also has its own private walking trail in the gated community, along with a heated driveway and entry courtyard, a home gym, a hobby room and a limestone fireplace in the great room to greet guests.

The highest sale price in Castle Rock was for a recreational ranch on 132 acres, also represented by a Sotheby’s broker, in 2024, according to the real estate agency. The ranch closed at $7.8 million .
