Predicting Week 4 high school football games on the Emerald Coast
Entering Week 4 of the high school football season, Walton (2-0) remains the lone unbeaten area team, Crestview (0-3) and Navarre (0-3) are still looking for their first wins, Choctaw (1-2) and Niceville (1-2) have seen the wears of tough schedules and Baker, Destin, Freeport and South Walton all sit above .500 at 2-1. So, yes, we've learned a lot. But there's also so many unknowns with district play looming. That changes this week with six area teams kicking off district play Friday night. Niceville welcomes District 1-5A foe Navarre to Eagle Stadium, while South Walton kicks of District 1-3A play with Pensacola (1-2) at the Hawks Nest. Crestview hosts Tate (2-1) at Jack Foster Stadium for a District 1-5A matchup, while Blountstown (2-1) visits Doug Griffith Memorial Stadium in a highly-touted District 1-1A matchup with Matt Brunson's Baker Gators. In District 1-4A, Fort Walton Beach welcomes Milton (1-2) to Steve Riggs Stadium and Choctaw travels to Escambia (1-1) looking to build on the momentum of last week's win at Pace. Let's get to picking. Vote now: FPL Athlete of the Week for Aug. 31-Sept. 5 Week 4 high school football predictions (last week 6-3, 17-10 on season) Niceville 38,

Predicting this week's high school football games on the Emerald Coast
"Just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this… and totally redeem yourself!" I feel like the Harry Dunne line from "Dumb and Dumber" suits me well after last week's high school football predictions. Shaking off a 4-6 opening week, I regrouped to go 7-1 and bring my season mark to a more respectable 11-7. Now let's see if I can continue the momentum. This week offers some juicy matchups in Niceville-Mosley, South Walton-Florida High and Choctaw-Pace, along with Thursday night football as Crestview looks for its first win when it hosts Pine Forest 7 p.m. at Jack Foster Stadium. Let's take a crack at a perfect week with a little context sprinkled in. Vote now: FPL Athlete of the Week for Aug. 24-29 Back-to-back shutouts: South Walton football routs FWB, improves to 2-0 Week 3 Predictions Crestview 28, Pine Forest 7 Reasoning: The Bulldogs won this matchup 33-8 last year and are in dire need of a win. Helping matters is the added motivation of Senior night and the vaunted Dawg Pound student section pitching in as the 12th man. Mosley 35, Niceville 28 Reasoning: Niceville's best lineman, Memphis Mays, was
