FORT WORTH, TX -- (1080 KRLD) A Fort Worth police officer has been fired over a profane interaction with a citizen.

Commanders received a complaint about Clayton Ryan and Internal Affairs looked into it. Investigators determined Ryan had not only used profane language but also shoved the man several times.

Internal Affairs informed Police Chief Neil Noekes that Ryan had violated multiple department policies and Noakes agreed -- so he ordered Ryan to be terminated.

"In this case, Officer Ryan did not conduct himself in a manner that represents the professionalism of law enforcement," the release states.

"The department will continue to hold employees accountable who do not meet the standards expected of a Fort Worth Police Officer and in doing so, will continue to be transparent with our community."

Ryan had been with the department for seven years and was assigned to the Patrol Bureau at the time of the incident.
