
West Virginia lost two defensive starters to injuries Saturday night in the 24-21 win over the TCU Horned Frogs.
Safety Aubrey Burks left the game in the first half after making a special teams play. The senior was carted off the field with an apparent neck or head injury and will remain in Ft. Worth (TX) for further observation but head coach Neal Brown said after the game he was receiving positive reports from the hospital.
Linebacker Trey Lathan was also carted off the field with a lower leg injury and Neal Brown stated after the game he will need season-ending surgery and will also remain in Ft. Worth.
