FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD)- The man who held Fort Worth police at bay for hours overnight is behind bars Thursday morning.

It started Wednesday evening at about 9 p.m. when a woman called for help, saying a former romantic partner was barricaded in her far southwest Fort Worth home on South Creek Drive and would not let her in. She said they had recently broken up because of domestic violence.

Officers tried to talk the man into coming out with no luck. Eventually, SWAT was called in to negotiate but they didn't have much luck at first, either.

Finally, about 2 a.m. SWAT broke into the home and by 2:30 or so they talked the man into giving it up. The whole ordeal took nearly five-and-a-half hours but no one was hurt.
