Old Fort Days Rodeo in downtown Fort Smith starts Monday
The 90th annual Old Fort Days Rodeo starts Monday.
The rodeo will be held at Kay Rodgers Park in downtown Fort Smith and will last all week. Tuesday and Wednesday are family nights with reduced admission prices.
"This rodeo just means everything to me," Denny Flynn said.
Flynn is the only bull rider to make it to the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame.
"You know I've been involved in this rodeo since I was just a little kid and it seems like it's just getting better and getter and bigger and bigger," Flynn said.
His daughter will compete in barrel racing on Monday.
"It's really competitive," Flynn said. "They've got these horses that are just super fast and these girls that train these horses are just really, really good."
The rodeo will also feature new technology this year.
"We're gonna kind of give this rodeo a shove into the 21st Century will full HD replay," said Jacob Moorhead, who works with the rodeo. "We've had technology here that is close to a quarter-century old. New sound, new effects, new video, gonna really give you that stadium experience."
40/29 Get Ready Weather is the Official Weather Forecast for the parade and rodeo. 40/29 and The Arkansas CW are media partners for the parade.
