“It is too early to tell whether or not a crime has occurred,” said Mascara. “But our detectives are working nonstop to thoroughly investigate the area, and they will remain on site until our search is complete.”
On Wednesday, the sheriff's office posted to its Facebook page stating detectives wrapped up their search that afternoon after not finding any evidence to support the tip.
The sheriff's office did not disclose which missing person's case is under investigation.
