Run-off set for Columbus City Council seat
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The race for the Columbus City Council At Large seat has entered a new phase after no candidate managed to secure 50% of the vote. A run-off election, set for June 18, will feature candidates Travis Chambers and John Anker, who garnered the most votes in the initial election.

Student on heart transplant list gets personal graduation ceremony at Emory hospital
Grant Martin didn’t think he would be able to graduate from Columbus State University in West Georgia. He was admitted to Emory University Hospital in April due to heart failure and was forced to forfeit his degree. But on Saturday, in a conference room at the Atlanta hospital, he donned a cap and gown, shook the university president’s hand and received his diploma.
