A Snellville woman and Augusta man were recently charged after a serious crash on Milledgeville Road in August that permanently disabled a young boy. James Bernard Thomas, of Augusta, is charged with felony serious injury by vehicle, felony possession of codeine with intent to distribute, and felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to arrest warrants.
Pedestrian killed by car on Nov. 13 identified by Augusta coroner
A pedestrian who died on Nov. 13 after being hit by a car in south Augusta has been identified as an Augusta man. Christopher Antonio Wright, 44, of Augusta, was hit by a car at Mike Padgett Highway and Phinizy Road while walking in the southbound lane, according to previous reporting.
UPDATE: Suspect identified after North Augusta home standoff
Aiken County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect as Daniel Harmon. Deputies say Harmon has been missing since December 2nd. He was taken to a hospital. Right now, the sheriff's office is still looking for Jamilla Smith. They say she went missing with Harmon. The Aiken County Sheriff's Office says because of her history, investigators believe she could be in danger.
