Main Suspect in Fort Dodge Murder Case Apprehended

The primary suspect in a Fort Dodge Murder investigation has been apprehended in eastern Iowa.

According to a press release from the Fort Dodge Police Department, a tip came in on Saturday of a possible location in Davenport, Iowa of wanted subject Davonquae Jyshon Pettigrew. Local investigators reached out to the Davenport Police Department for assistance. With the information that was gathered, the Davenport Police Department conducted a search warrant at a residence in Davenport. During the search warrant, Pettigrew was taken into custody at approximately 6:45 P.M. without incident.

Pettigrew was booked into the Scott County Jail but is being held in the Scott County Juvenile Detention Center in Davenport. The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, the Webster County Attorney’s Office, and the Davenport Police Department.

Pettigrew faces charges in the shooting that killed Patrick Walker of Fort Dodge and left another Fort Dodge man injured.
