Colorado State junior Mya Lesnar is headed to next month’s NCAA Championship meet, qualifying with an 11th-place finish in the shot put at Saturday’s NCAA West Regionals in Sacramento, Calif.
If that name sounds familiar it’s because Lesnar is the daughter of wrestling legend Brock Lesnar, a seven-time WWE champion and former mixed martial artist competing in UFC.
Lesnar, who recently transferred from Arizona State, finished runner-up in the hammer throw at this month’s Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Fresno while also earning bronze in the shot put (16.89 meters) and a respectable sixth-place finish in the discus (53.62 meters).

Lesnar takes after her father, who himself was a decorated NCAA wrestler, winning a national championship in the heavyweight division his senior year at the University of Minnesota.
The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships will be held at Mike A. Meyers Stadium on the University of Texas campus between June 7-10 with television coverage on ESPN2 and ESPNU.
