Storms return to El Paso Thursday, but Halloween forecast is dry
More storms are headed toward El Paso and Southern New Mexico, bringing the potential for heavy rain, localized flooding and even some hail. The next round of storms is expected Thursday, Oct. 29, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms continuing into the night. Most areas should get up to 0.25 inches of rain, but some locations could see 1 to 2 inches, particularly east of the U.S. 54 corridor, according to the National Weather Service. Gusty winds and small hail are also possible, though storms are expected to be less intense than the severe weather that swept through the Borderland flooding homes and inundating streets and prompting a disaster declaration . Temperatures will remain seasonable, with daytime highs in the mid-to-upper 70s before slightly cooler weather arrives over the weekend. What will El Paso weather be like on Halloween? There's good news for trick-or-treaters: Halloween is expected to be mostly dry across El Paso. The storm system is forecast to move out Friday morning, Oct. 30, although another weaker disturbance could bring scattered showers to western portions of the region Friday afternoon and evening. On Halloween, drier weather moves into the Borderland, with mostly cloudy skies, mild temperatures and light
