    Ingredients:

    • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to about 1/4 inch thickness
    • 6 slices cooked ham
    • 6 slices Swiss cheese
    • 1 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 2 large eggs, beaten
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/4 cup butter, melted
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 2 cups chicken broth
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • Salt and pepper to taste

    Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Chicken: Lay out the chicken breasts on a clean surface. Top each breast with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese. Roll up the chicken breasts tightly and secure them with toothpicks.
    2. Coat the Chicken: In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, and milk. Dredge the rolled chicken breasts in the mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
    3. Bake the Chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased baking dish, arrange the coated chicken breasts. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown.
    4. Make the Sauce: In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture is smooth. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring constantly until the sauce is thickened and bubbly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    5. Assemble the Casserole: Remove the toothpicks from the cooked chicken breasts. Place the chicken breasts in the baking dish. Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the chicken.
    6. Bake the Casserole: Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the casserole is heated through.

    Conclusion

This Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole is a hearty and satisfying dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. The combination of tender chicken, savory ham, and melted cheese is truly irresistible. The creamy sauce adds a rich and comforting flavor that complements the dish beautifully. Enjoy this delicious casserole with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.

I think what is confusing is that the picture doesn't match the recipe at all. The recipe is just baking the sauce over the chicken instead of serving it by the side in a gravy boat or something. The picture has eggs and cut up chicken.
