FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI – Two people died and one person was critically injured after their vehicle was struck by a wrong-way driver, Flint Township police said.
Police responded to a 10:35 p.m. report of a head-on crash on Saturday, May 27, along a portion of I-75.
Police said a 43-year-old Flint Township man was driving his vehicle southbound in the northbound lanes of I-75 near Beecher Road when he collided, head-on, with a Sedan traveling northbound on I-75.
The driver of the Sedan, a 27-year-old Flushing resident, is listed in critical condition.
Two other occupants in the vehicle, a 24-year-old Flushing woman and a 31-year-old Mundy Township man, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Both lanes of I-75 were closed during the investigation.
Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor for the wrong-way driver’s role in the crash.
