Floydada Whirlwinds host the New Deal Lions in a district game on March 17, 2023
FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds (3-12, 0-4) played the Olton Mustangs on Saturday in a district game.
Olton would score one run in the first inning, but the Whirlwinds would respond with two runs in the bottom half of the inning and lead 2-1.
In the top of the second inning, the Mustangs would score eight runs and take the lead, 9-2.
The Whirlwinds cut the Mustangs’ lead to two after scoring five runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Floydada would try to comeback, but Olton was able to maintain the lead and secure the victory, 14-9.
