A solo pilot that died Sunday after his plane crashed in Maricopa was identified as 45-year-old Allen Key Sackett of Florence by Maricopa Police Department.

Around 7 a.m. the day of the crash, Maricopa fire and medical teams responded to a report of a small aircraft going down east of Murphy and La Brea roads. Upon arriving, officials found Sackett dead at the scene.

Officials discovered he was using a backpack-style paramotor device when he experienced an uncontrolled landing. Following the crash, no one else was injured and no nearby buildings were damaged.

Sackett's family was notified, and the cause of the crash remained unknown.
